Stopping the Violence Counselling

Stopping the Violence Counselling empowers women to heal from abuse and trauma through free, confidential support—yet limited provincial funding means many are left waiting. Your donation helps ensure more women in our community can access the safety, strength, and healing they deserve, that fall outside the scope of this Provincially funded program.

Neighbour to Neighbour

The Neighbour to Neighbour Fund helps individuals and families in the South Similkameen Valley (Keremeos, Cawston, Hedley, and Olalla) access essential support and opportunities. Funded by generous donations, this program provides assistance for basic needs, community programs, and financial relief for those facing hardship.

1. Community Support & Well-Being

The fund helps individuals and families by providing:

  • Recreation centre passes for families and individuals
  • The annual Christmas Market, where families can choose free gifts for loved ones
  • Men’s counselling services
  • Warming and cooling centre supplies
  • Other unfunded but essential needs identified by our team and community

2. Camp, Arts & Recreation Bursaries

Every child deserves the opportunity to participate in enriching experiences. This subsidy helps children (0-18) attend spring, summer, and after-school camps, as well as arts and recreation programs. It is open to:

  • Low-income families
  • Children with disabilities
  • Children in foster care
  • Families facing temporary financial hardship

Priority is given to families engaged with LSSCS programs, first-time applicants, and those facing significant financial barriers.

3. Emergency Relief Assistance

For individuals facing urgent financial or medical hardship, this fund provides short-term emergency support to ensure no one goes without basic necessities. Assistance may include:

  • Food assistance
  • Medications and essential toiletries
  • Gasoline for urgent needs
